The book and web publisher O’Reilly Media has moved into Downtown Crossing.

O’Reilly and its subsidiary Safari Books Online LLC will be leaving their offices in Cambridge and South Boston in July to move into 30,000 square feet at Lafayette City Center, the building’s owner said.

Several other companies, many of them in the tech sector, have moved near Downtown Crossing recently. Last year, high-end audio manufacturer Sonos joined backup company Carbonite in the same building. Arnold Worldwide, the advertising company, has moved 600 employees into the old Filene’s department store, and several other technology companies have moved in to other nearby offices.

O’Reilly and Safari Books make technical books and publish through the web. The Abbey Group, which owns Lafayette City Center, said it leased 300,000 square feet of the 615,000-square foot office building in 2014.
